Kellie and Brendan are childhood sweethearts and were keen to share their special day with all their family and friends.

Hei Matua is a stunning venue and they used the huge front lawn for the wedding ceremony, vintage games and a marquee attached to the house for the reception. The wind did cause some challenges on the wedding day, however Kellie and Brendan ended up getting the lawn wedding ceremony with a sea view that they wanted. Kellie, her sister-in-law and her Mum did most of the wedding planning leading up to the day and we were involved in managing the actual wedding day for them. Kellie’s uncle from South Africa was the celebrant, which added a lovely personal touch. A wedding arch was erected on the front lawn by Naomi and shepherd’s crooks hung from the chair on each end of the rows of chairs – so a classical wedding ceremony look.

Canapes and drinks took place on the lawn while the bridal party was off having their wedding photos taken. Then the guests moved into the marquee which was beautifully dressed with flowers from Leaf and Honey. A three course meal was served by Gill Stotter catering interspersed with speeches coordinated by a very efficient MC.

After the meal there was an elaborate candy bar and a cupcake tower as the wedding cake for guests to enjoy. DJ Phil then got everyone up on the dance floor and guests could also have fun with dress ups in the photo booth on offer in the conservatory.
