Waiheke Island is a very special place and, apart from the amazing vineyards, Waiheke Island Weddings and Events also have exclusive rights to numerous beautiful Private Homes & Venues for your special event.
After an initial consult we can provide you with a a list of carefully selected venues that match your requirements. From your chosen shortlist we can then arrange suitable viewing times.

A wedding is one of those special moments in everyone’s lives where everything needs to be perfect.  Emotions are high and the main emphasis is on the couple and why they are celebrating… love of course… what’s not to love being part of a day celebrating this? The event is very personal and specially tailored for the couple so that their wedding is one of the most special days they will have. My approachable and calm nature helps ensure that your day goes without a hitch and you get to enjoy this most special event. I have been working in the fashion industry most of my career in London, Paris and Australia and designed wedding dresses for Jasper Conran, ball gowns for Pierce Fionda, Ben de Lise and many other designers in London. During this time I worked closely with Collette Dinnigan on her shows in Paris and when I returned to Australia managed her design room. I further went on to manage the Willow design team taking Willow over to New York fashion week for her inaugural show. In these high pressure events it pays to have a calm head, think on your feet and find solutions to any issues that may arise. With this experience I can provide the right temperament, creative and organizational skills to be the go to girl on your special day. It has been said I am unflappable and solution driven.  I like the idea of being part of a special event that has positivity, celebration and joy as its main emphasis.

I have first-hand experience of planning a wedding on Waiheke from afar – ten years ago I got married on Waiheke Island while we were living in New York City and always wished I had a local wedding planner. After 13 years living overseas working in in project and event management in London I returned to New Zealand on Waiheke with my family. I  have spent the past 8 years enjoying the privilege of supporting couples throughout the process of planning their wedding and I believe there is nowhere more beautiful that Waiheke Island to tie the knot.

For clients who wish to plan part of their day or event

We can coordinate your day so you are free to enjoy it knowing that all aspects of supplier deliveries, set up and timing of the day go to schedule, or maybe you have underestimated the work involved and therefore need support and advice to realise your dream day.

This service is tailor-made to your personal requirements so you can select a few elements of the full wedding service or we can step in and help at any stage.

One of our most popular services is the On the Day package where you select and organise your suppliers and we take over the coordination of the day. We provide all your suppliers with detailed run-sheets, making sure everything goes to plan and are there on the day providing support and advice in case any issues that may arise on the day.

You may already have some ideas about the colour scheme and look for your wedding or event or alternatively may feel overwhelmed by the options available. We can use our creative know how and wealth of experience and resources to provide ideas to give you inspiration or develop an idea to make your vision a reality. Right down to the smallest details, we can personalise your special day making the event unique to the client. Inspirational boards covering different themes, colours, floral ideas, lighting and table settings. We know where to find most things and if not will source them for you. Lastly we will help set up the on the day with the venue and your team so that the venue is everything you wished for.

Oneroa Bay Vineyards March 2016 Michelle, we cannot thank you enough for your wonderful services throughout our whole wedding planning procedure right up until the big day! As we were planning the wedding from the UK, at times it was difficult but Michelle was always so helpful, going over and above to offer suggestions, recommendations, realistic options and covering all bases at all times. She was bubbly, friendly, positive, flexible and knowledgeable offering the best advice and service we could possibly ask for. From picking up us from the ferry terminal when we first visited Waiheke to go venue viewing and spending so much time showing us 3 beautiful properties, to running me to a dress maker 2 days before the wedding when I was worried the dress needed a further alteration, to feeding me honey and hot water with lemon to clear my tickly throat minutes before I went down the aisle! It wasn’t just the big things, but the small details that really made an extra difference. Michelle was patient and caring and did everything with a big smile. Mudbrick February 2016 We got in touch with Michelle when we first decided to get married on Waiheke. Living in Wellington and not knowing anything about wedding’s on Waiheke we thought it would be great to have someone to coordinate things on the Island and to make recommendations. From our first meeting with Michelle she made us feel really at ease. She was helpful, knowledgeable and warm. In the month leading up to the wedding her expertise really kicked in and I felt confident that everything would run smoothly. It was the day before and the day of the wedding that we came to realise just how invaluable it was to have Michelle organising things. We had lots of people to coordinate and things to get arranged and she was there to calmly, warmly and efficiently deal with things. From sewing last minute buttons for the groomsmen, to dropping off purses at the venue, she was wonderful, professional, warm and a great addition to our wedding day.  We came away saying that the thing we felt was the best wedding investment was having Michelle there to organise things. Mudbrick Sept 2016 Living in Melbourne, Australia and planning our overseas Waiheke Island wedding was amazing and amazingly stressful all at the same time. Bec and I discussed bringing on board a planner throughout the planning process as things got more and more difficult to coordinate by correspondence but we assumed it would be an expense we couldn't work into the budget. About 6 weeks before the wedding I was burning out and decided to get some quotes to show Bec that evening. That's when we found Michelle! One of the most incredible women we have ever met! Working with Michelle has been an absolute blessing from day one. She completely took over the final 6 weeks of preparations and I got to enjoy the process and the lead up to the day. My biggest fear for the wedding was not having anyone there on the day to support us and make sure the wedding flowed smoothly. Nothing was too big or too small for her to manage. From coordinating our guests and vendors, to misting our faces pre ceremony, to scrubbing our muddy dresses before we walked down the aisle. Michelle made the entire day come together, it was truly seamless, we didn't want for anything, she was by our sides the entire time and was it was all effortless! Michelle is now not just someone we worked with on our big day, but has become someone we see as our friend.
